Research4Life is the collective name for five programmes – Hinari, AGORA, OARE, ARDI and GOALI – that provide developing countries with free or low-cost access to academic and professional peer-reviewed content online. It is a public-private partnership of WHO, FAO, UNEP, WIPO, ILO, Cornell and Yale Universities, the International Association of Scientific, Technical & Medical Publishers and up to 160 international publishers. The goal of Research4Life is to reduce the knowledge gap between high-income countries and low- and middle-income countries by providing affordable access to scholarly, professional and research information.

Provides free or low-cost access to biomedical and health literature for local, not-for-profit institutions in developing countries. Covers thousands of journals, books and other resources.
AGORA
Research in Agriculture
Access to leading journals, books and databases in food, agriculture, environmental science and related social sciences. Empowers researchers in low-income countries.
OARE
Research in the Environment
Comprehensive collection of environmental science journals, including climate change, ecology, natural resources and sustainability research.
ARDI
Research for Development & Innovation
Focused on applied sciences, technology and innovation. Provides access to technical and engineering journals, supporting sustainable development.
GOALI
Research for Global Justice
Legal information and law journals. Provides access to scholarly legal resources, supporting justice, governance and human rights research.

Since 2002, the five programs – Research for Health (Hinari), Research in Agriculture (AGORA), Research in the Environment (OARE), Research for Development and Innovation (ARDI) and Research for Global Justice (GOALI) – have provided researchers at more than 10,000 institutions in more than 120 low- and middle-income countries with free or low-cost online access to up to 100,400 leading journals and books in the fields of health, agriculture, environment, applied sciences and legal information.
